VOTING

Voting about the golf course purchase is currently in progress. If you have received your password and user ID, you can use the link below to vote. That will usually work, even if you have experienced trouble when typing out the URL included in your voting package:

Please note that unless you received an email confirmation after voting online, your vote may not have registered. You can click the link to check. If your vote was processed, the voting company’s system will NOT let you vote again. If you have any questions, or didn’t receive your voting package, please contact Sequoia Management directly. You can also contact the voting company for help Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm central time at 866-909-3549 or reach them at support@directvote.net. They will probably suggest that you try closing all your browser windows, restarting your browser, and then trying again in case there is a cookie issue, so you might want to try that first.

The package from SBS with your voting credentials looks like the photo below, a white envelope with the Virginia Oaks logo and the return address for Survey & Ballot Systems in MN. Watch for it in your mailbox.

This is the only remaining question on the Ballot relating to the purchase:

Question 1

Whether to authorize the Board of Directors, on behalf of the Association, to borrow up to Two Million, Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($2,500,000.00) for the purpose of purchasing the golf course parcels and to provide additional funds necessary for such property’s operations, maintenance and potential renovation.

( ) I provide my assent for the Board of Directors, on behalf of the Association, to borrow up to Two Million, Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($2,500,000.00) for the purpose of purchasing the golf course parcels and to provide additional funds necessary for such property’s operations, maintenance and potential renovation.

( ) I do not provide my assent for the Board of Directors, on behalf of the Association, to borrow up to Two Million, Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($2,500,000.00) for the purpose of purchasing the golf course parcels and to provide additional funds necessary for such property’s operations, maintenance and potential renovation.

The HOA will need 2/3 of 100% of all homeowners to vote YES. Note: Voting on Question 1 has been allowed to continue beyond December 16th per the advice of the HOA attorney in an effort to ensure that households wishing to vote all have adequate opportunity to do so.

Regardless of past opinion about the golf course or golf course owners, misconceptions or discussions about selling the front property, or anything else, having the opportunity to make a choice about the future of the community is valuable. If the purchase is approved, the Virginia Oaks HOA will control its surroundings and destiny for the future.

If we own it, we control it. For $180 a quarter, we can have stability, peace of mind, and additional amenities to use and attract new buyers.
